BAIE DE CAMARGUE Downwind
Departure depending on the wind
Downwind is a discipline that involve making the most of the wind and the waves, to navigate as fast as possible possible downwind.
The LONG DISTANCE race
Distance about 8.5 miles
- With a Southeast wind: departure from Port Camargue (Espiguette), arrival at Carnon (sailing base). See course map
- With North-West wind: departure from Carnon (sailing base), arrival at Grau du Roi (North beach). See course map
- With South-West or North wind, or conditions below 15 knots, a slalom course will be offered.
Transport : shuttles will drop off riders at the start zone (sailing base route – starting zone route).
- The equipment will be previously deposited in a dedicated and supervised area.
- Upon arrival, competitors will find their vehicle.
Prize Money :
a prize money will reward the 3 best women and 3 best men in the long distance race.

- 10:00 am: women – 10.10 : men
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 17
- 8:30 am : Race’s briefing

- 9:00 am : women – 9:10 am men
The SHORT DISTANCE race
Distance 4 miles.
By North-West wind: departure from the sailing base, arrival at Carnon Grand travers. Voir tracé de la course
- With South-West or North winds, or conditions less than 15 knots, a slalom course will be offered
